This part is also known as a single-point injection system or central injection. Unlike carburettors, which mix air and fuel less precisely, the single-point system uses a single injector located in the throttle body to spray fuel into the intake manifold, just before the air is distributed to the cylinders. Electronically controlled, this system offers greater efficiency, better cold starting, and lower emissions than carburettors.
